Radio station KGSR 93.3 FM announced the lineup for their popular morning South by Southwest broadcasts today and it includes a few good surprises. Most notably wistful folk rockers Avett Brothers and rapidly rising young British singer-songwriter Jake Bugg will perform.
The broadcasts, hosted by KGSR personalities Andy Langer and Emily McIntosh, run 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 16- Friday March 18 and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 19 at the W Austin. The broadcasts are open to the public with a $5 suggested donation to the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Central and South Texas.
KGSR has a strong track record for selecting emerging talent and over the years the broadcasts have become a hot ticket, with fans lining up very early in the morning to get in to some of the shows. ““Every year, there are a handful of artists who wonder aloud why they’re up so early,” Langer says. “And then as soon as they walk into the ballroom and see the huge crowd, of real music fans, you can see the grumpiness turn to surprise and excitement. ”
