Hear Kevin Fowler’s new song about the best parts of Texas

Looks like Kevin Fowler’s back with another novelty song, this time about Texas.

“Texas Forever” follows the tongue-in-cheek “Sellout Song” as the next single from Fowler’s upcoming album “Coming To A Honky Tonk Near You.”

In the newly-released video for the song, Fowler and his band are set up in an open field, singing the praises of the Lone Star State.

The Alamo, bluebonnets, red Corpus sunsets, Friday night lights, Joe T. Garcia’s, floating the Frio and more all get shout-outs in Fowler’s love letter to the region.

The song, and the rest of the new album, was produced by Trent Willmon.

“This song is the best ‘Texas’ song I’ve ever heard,” Fowler wrote in a news release on his website. “After one listen I was hooked. I knew immediately that it was something I wanted to record. It literally gave me chills. If you’re a Texan you can definitely relate with this song. It’s a true Texas anthem.”

The only thing that would make the song better is if it included Tim Riggins, the modern embodiment of “Texas Forever.”

“Coming To A Honky Tonk Near You” is Fowler’s eighth studio album and will be released Oct. 21 through Fowler’s own label, Kevin Fowler Records. He is currently touring all over the state in support of the new record, including a guest appearance at Brad Paisley’s H-E-B Center show in Cedar Park back in August.
