The 59th annual Grammy Awards ceremony is set to go down on Sunday, Feb 12, and the performance roster just got significantly sweeter. New performers include Chance the Rapper, who’s up for Best Rap Album for his beautiful 2016 release “Coloring Book,” and Sturgill Simpson, who shocked everyone last year when he became the dark horse candidate for Album of the Year with “A Sailor’s Guide to Earth.”
Gary Clark Jr. will also appear in a special collaborative performance with soul artist William Bell, who’s up for a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance. This isn’t Clark’s first high-profile Grammy collab. Last year, Clark appeared with Chris Stapleton and Bonnie Raitt in an electrifying tribute to B.B. King.
And in 2015, he taped a Stevie Wonder tribute performance with Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran over Grammy weekend. And in 2014, the year he picked up two Grammys, Clark teamed up with Keith Urban to play “Cop Car.”
Previously announced performers for this year’s Grammys include Adele, Daft Punk, Dave Grohl, Alicia Keys, John Legend,Bruno Mars, Metallica, Maren Morris, Anderson .Paak, A Tribe Called Quest, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and the Weeknd. Little Big Town will also perform.
