The marquee headlining concert of Mack, Jack & McConaughey — this year featuring Miranda Lambert on April 20 — is ostensibly the annual fundraiser’s biggest music event. But those who have attended co-host Jack Ingram’s songwriters show on the second night will tell you it may well be the hidden gem of the whole shindig. This year looks to continue in that tradition, as the legendary Kris Kristofferson will be joining Jack Ingram and friends in the April 21 lineup at ACL Live.

Also on the bill are Todd Snider, Butch Walker, Jessi Alexander, Keith Gattis, Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna, Paul Overstreet, Jon Randall and Liz Rose, plus “surprise performances by a Grammy Award-winning band,” according to a press statement. Tickets, prices TBA, go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 17 via the ACL Live website.

Former University of Texas football coach Mack Brown, who co-hosts MJ&M along with Ingram and Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, said in the statement that it’s “very special” to have Kristofferson on the bill. “He did our very first Jack & Friends Concert, and it’s meaningful to us that he is here with us again to celebrate our fifth year.”

This year’s MJ&M benefits CureDuchenne, Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, HeartGift, the Just Keep Livin’ Foundation and the Rise School of Austin.
