This week’s music picks: Band of Heathens, Isaiah Rashad and more

Thursday: Band of Heathens, Quebe Sisters at Mohawk outdoor. “Duende,” the first album in four years from the Americana band fronted by Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist, mixes elements of backwoods country and folk with touches of street-smart rhythmic funk ’n’ roll. The Heathens’ moods swing from the down-and-dirty raunch of “Sugar Queen” to the buoyant pop of “Deep Is Love” to the steady-rolling acoustic blues of “Last Minute Man” to the laid-back groove of “Cracking the Code” to the richly melodic country-rocker “Green Grass of California.” The Quebe Sisters, a supremely talented Metroplex family fiddle trio, are a secret weapon of a support act. $20. 6 p.m. doors. 912 Red River St. — P.B.

Thursday: Isaiah Rashad at Grizzly Hall. At 25, Rashad is a young gun at Top Dawg Entertainment, the boutique hip-hop label that’s also home to Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q, but his 2016 release, “The Sun’s Tirade,” demonstrated incisive wisdom beyond his years and a gift for vivid lyricism. Expect him to be playing much bigger rooms very soon. Technically sold out. 8 p.m. 2015 E. Riverside Drive. — D.S.S.
