July is shaping up to be a big month for girl-group greats visiting Austin. On July 6, Motown legend Diana Ross, who led the Supremes to the top of the charts in the 1960s before going solo stardom, returns to ACL Live, a venue she helped to kick-start when she played one of the first concerts there in February 2011. And on July 28, Atlanta trio TLC, the top-selling girl-group of the 1990s, headline an “I Love the ’90s” tour at the HEB Center in Cedar Park.
The on-sale date for both shows is 10 a.m. Friday, March 31. Tickets to Ross’s show, a continuation of her extended “In the Name of Love” tour that stopped in Austin at Bass Concert Hall in 2015, are $70-$156 via acl-live.com; no opening act is currently listed. Tickets to “I Love the ’90s,” which in addition to TLC features Blackstreet, Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, Rob Base, C&C Music Factory featuring Freedom Williams and Snap, are $31-$71 via ticketmaster.com.
