The Fader, an influential music magazine that has grown into a global multi-media company, will expand the brand into hardcover with a new book “Fader Fort: Setting the Stage” which is set to come out on March 1. The book chronicles 15 years of the Fader Fort in Austin, including rare backstage shots and portraits of artists like Kanye West, Lou Reed, Miley Cyrus, and Erykah Badu, as well as early, intimate performances from rising stars like Amy Winehouse, Kendrick Lamar.
Over the course of its history, the Fort grew from a humble hangout in an Austin hotel room into one of the South by Southwest Music Festival’s most hyped side attractions and coveted wristbands.
“Fader Fort originated from a pure passion that was all about creating amazing moments in live performances,” says Fader co-founder Rob Stone. “Over time we realized these moments are becoming our legacy and our contribution to culture. This book documents those rare moments that made it what it is today.”
No word yet on the Fader’s plans for SXSW 2018.
