Over the past couple weeks, Austinite Reid Umstattd has advanced into the top 24 performers on the NBC singing competition “The Voice.”
On Monday, he sang in round one of the show’s playoffs, putting in a passionate performance of the U2 classic “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”
On “The Voice,” the artists are divided into teams and each team has a celebrity coach. Umstattd performs as part of Adam Levine’s team. The playoff round was kicked off with a public vote, with the artist from each team who ended up with the greatest number of votes advancing to the next round of competition without a battle.
Unfortunately, Umstattd’s best Bono wasn’t enough to carry him to the top of his team. He will compete in the show’s next battle rounds on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
