Jelly Roll is back in Austin for the 2024 CMT Music Awards.

Jelly Roll, who was nominated for several awards Sunday, beat out several artists, including Amber Riley, Cody Johnson and Kelsea Ballerini, for CMT Performance of the Year.

During his acceptance speech, he recalled his performance of "Need a Favor," which he played for the first time on national television during the 2023 CMT Awards stage in Austin's Moody Center — his first-ever awards show.

"In that last year, you have changed my life in every way, I would have never thought my life could be changed," Jelly Roll said to the cheering crowd.

"I stand here tonight a man that plans the party on Sixth Street and go to the Comedy Mothership. I'll see you later," he yelled as he wrapped his speech.

The Comedy Mothership is Joe Rogan's comedy club that he opened in 2023 after buying and transforming the historic Ritz Theater off Sixth Street.

'We're shutting Sixth Street down tonight.' Jelly Roll celebrates 2023 CMT Awards

It's not the first time Jelly Roll has mentioned Sixth Street. After he won three categories at last year's CMT Music Awards, he ended his acceptance speech with a call to celebrate:

"We're shutting Sixth Street down tonight, baby. Meet me there.”

Jelly Roll says he voted for himself, Cody Johnson and Kelsea Ballerini

Jelly Roll won the Video of the Year award for his song "Need a Favor," the second year in a row that he walked away with three CMT awards. Cody Johnson and Kelsea Ballerini were also finalists for the award.
